MINI-MODS AND THE LIKE

Caravans of Faerûn

A very small mod meant to add a little to roleplaying. One annoying aspect of Baldur’s Gate I is the party’s need to travel to every noteworthy location on the Sword Coast by foot, spending weeks if not months of game time on travel alone, while having to fend off the annoyance of bandits and other waylays along the way, then having to spend another eight hours after arriving at a distant location to rest due to fatigue. A completionist’s run of the game may take half an in-game year, if not more due to all this dead time. To somewhat lessen this, Caravans of Faerûn adds some Caravan Masters who will take you to named locations on the world map at half the normal travel time and ending with a well-rested party. Of course, you must pay some gold for such a service.

The Artisan’s Shaman Tweaks

The Shaman kit added by the Enhanced Edition is more than a little half-baked. The kit’s progression is literally copied from that of the Sorcerer with their 8th and 9th levels removed, one of the slowest leveling classes in the game, without regard for how the divine spellcaster’s scaling adjusts to that. They don’t even have a stat-based spell slot bonus like divine casters! As a result, the Shaman progresses extremely awkwardly as a spellcaster compared to the cleric and druid, having a higher than normal number of casts when first unlocking a new spell level, but gaining new spells and casts per day at a painfully slow pace as a tradeoff with significantly fewer casts per day. This small mod hopes to remedy that a little by giving the Shaman a more even curve, changing their experience table to that of a cleric, as well as adjusting their spell learning and max casts per day at a more consistent pace.

Frostforged – IWDEE Item Reworks

A work in progress project to overhaul the majority of Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition’s named, enchanted or otherwise unique items, as well as adding some new ones into the mix. Very much a work in progress, though plenty of items have already been reworked, with previously forgettable items having more interesting effects, excessively powerful items toned down (but kept interesting with potential new effects of their own) and, in general, making loot hunting a more entertaining experience.

Heart of Winter Ending Tweak

A small mod to alter the ending of Heart of Winter expansion for IWD:EE (when playing from the main campaign) so that the expansion does not end immediately after defeating the final boss. You will be able to return to Lonelywood and complete any unfinished business, as well as play Trials of the Luremaster if you so desire, and finish the expansion when you desire by speaking with Hjollder.

The Amazing Pocket Wardrobe

This small mod aims to be the ultimate appearance customizer for the playable sprites. It adds The Amazing Pocket Wardrobe to your inventory at the start of the game, which when conversed with allows you to alter your animation to any combination of race, gender, class, visible armor appearance, as well as helmet visibility. All changes are purely cosmetic and do not affect your stats or general gameplay. Additionally, if the custom replacement animations made by Sentrizeal is installed first, there are components available to make the custom animations exclusive to the wardrobe as additional options (if you prefer your characters to look more unique) or restore the original animations as options in the wardrobe (for vice versa).
